iAdhan app for iPhone and iPad
This application consists of the adhan in Arabic along with its translation and translation in English, for all five fard prayers in a day.
The adhān (أَذَان) is the Islamic call to prayer, recited by the muezzin. The root of the word is "to permit", and another derivative of this word is uḏun, meaning "ear."
Adhan is called out by the muezzin in the mosque five times a day summoning Muslims for mandatory (fard) prayers (salah). The main purpose behind the loud pronouncement of adhan five times a day in every mosque is to make available to everyone an easily intelligible summary of Islamic belief. It is intended to bring to the mind of every believer and non-believer the substance of Islamic beliefs, or its spiritual ideology.
Saying the Azaan holds great benefits and rewards as mentioned in the Ahadith:
★ The Prophet of Allah has said, "I went to paradise and saw domes of pearl and its dirt is of musk." He said, "Oh Gabrial, who is this for?" He replied, "This if for your ummahs Muazzin (one who says the Azaan) and Imams." [Rawahu Abu Yala Fee Musnad]
★ The duaa between Azaan and Iqamah is not rejected. [Abu Daood & Tirmizi]
